Help your employees get to work and improve traffic flow when you start a Commute Smart program.

Is your company affected by the CTR Law?

Do you have 100 or more employees at a single worksite who:

  • Scheduled to begin their workday between 6:00am and 9:00am?
  • Work at least 35 hours per week?
  • Work at least two days a week (M-F) in positions intended to last 12 months or more?

If you answered, "Yes," to these questions, your worksite is likely affected by the CTR Law.

If you answered, "No," to any of those questions, but would still like your employer to participate, Commute Smart Northwest provides free support, information and marketing materials for building a Commute Smart program.

If you just want to participate as an individual commuter, please create a commute calendar profile using the worksite passcode “PFGX” to log your trips and be eligible for prize drawings.

Please contact Commute Smart Northwest at (509) 477-7540 for more information.

A Commute Smart program is an employer-based education and outreach program, sponsored by Commute Smart Northwest. Building on the success of Spokane County's current employer-based transportation programs, you can join neighboring businesses already working to reduce employee solo commute trips, improve air quality and ease traffic congestion.

When you join as a Commute Smart employer, you will be joining dozens of other employers promoting and encouraging employees to choose alternatives to driving alone. Employers experience better on time performance
from their employees and improved employee morale when they use commute alternatives including riding the bus, carpooling, vanpooling, walking, bicycling, teleworking and compressed work schedules.

Commute Smart guides and assists in implementing an employee transportation program at your worksite. Our objectives include:

  • Providing a wide range of tools and services - A variety of free educational and promotional materials, along with personalized assistance are available.
  • Providing promotional campaigns and special events - By agreeing to participate in a Commute Smart program, you will be eligible to participate in campaigns designed to encourage your employees to use commute alternatives. Incentives may be provided along with monthly countywide prize drawings and giveaways.
  • Providing Employer networking opportunities - the the Commute Smart program provides regular opportunities to gather and share information about other employee transportation programs and issues that will improve program success.
  • Providing tools to help form carpool and vanpool groups - Using zip code and work shift information will help your employees find carpool or vanpool partners.
