Commute Smart Northwest works with over 110 businesses throughout Spokane County to implement Commute Smart programs to promote and encourage the use of commute options including riding transit, carpooling, STA Rideshare (vanpool), walking, bicycling, teleworking and compressing work schedules. The impact of this program continues to grow and is incredibly significant to our region. Daily, over 8,300 trips are removed from our roadways and over 141,000 miles are not being driven. Participating Commute Smart employers, collectively, helped to achieve those numbers, improving mobility, reducing traffic congestion and improving our air quality. The Commute Smart Champions Awards program celebrates and recognizes the excellence in employer strategies and practices in the areas of performance, programming and engagement. Employers work throughout the year to earn points to be recognized as an Employer Champion. In addition to recognizing our 2023 Pinnacle Awards, Teams, Jurisdiction Champion Awards, Champion Business Leaders, Champion Employee Transportation Coordinators and Champion Commuters, Commute Smart Northwest is proud to share the 2023 results for employers who achieved a Platinum, Gold, Silver and Bronze level. These remarkable results are critical to maintaining the quality of life we all enjoy in the Inland Northwest.
