Tait Garcia - The City of Liberty Lake

Tait is the Administrative Assistant for the City of Liberty Lake. She has been the ETC since March 2021. She markets her program to approximately 95 employees. The City of Liberty Lake offers secured bike storage, lockers, compressed work schedules and teleworking, where eligible.

She loves talking to her employees about the options to driving alone. For those that are reluctant to consider a commute option, she encourages them to try biking to get a coffee or walking with their family to a park on a weekend, instead of driving alone. And that has sparked some interest! Tait also sets a great example by walking her talk and carpools with her husband for their 28-mile round trip commute.

Tait also loves getting to know other ETCs and working with all the people who make the Commute Smart program a success in Spokane County.

When Tait took over the program, they literally had 1 employee participating. Through her efforts she now has 20 employees participating! She is also working on getting a small budget in 2025 for incentives and is starting a committee in April.

Tait’s words of wisdom are, “Word travels fast! When you draw a worksite winner or have a countywide winner, get the word out. It encourages those not participating to consider it and gives recognition to those that already do!
