Champion ETC

Debbie Morse, Numerica Credit Union

Debbie is a Headquarters Support Manager and has been the ETC since October 2022. Debbie markets her program to approximately 300 employees at their headquarters in the Spokane Valley. Numerica offers bike racks & lockers, monthly incentives, guaranteed ride home and most recently, fully subsidized transit passes, which Debbie was instrumental in implementing.

Since taking over the program, Debbie took their program from a Silver to a Platinum level of achievement in only one year. She enjoys talking to her employees about the program. When her employees win a gift card, Debbie will personally attend the department meeting to award the winner with their card. That’s caught the attention of other employees, who are already using a commute option, but not updating their calendar.

Of course, Debbie’s greatest challenge is getting her people who are already using a commute option to update their calendar, especially teleworkers. But Debbie makes an effort to get on all monthly team meetings, for those teleworkers, to educate her employees about the program. She’s also a direct report to the Vice President, so she’s been able to get more management support for their program. Most recently Debbie started a committee with 2 other employees, who are also participants in the program.

Her words of wisdom to other ETCs, “Be willing to talk to your employees, and create a binder, with monthly tabs. It helps to stay organized and if anyone needs to step in, everything that’s been done in the last year is there for their reference”.

Congratulations Debbie!
